Axel Hochkirch (a current chair of the IUCN SSC Grasshopper Specialist Group (GSG)) has recently been elected as the Orthopterists’ Society’s new President-Elect. This means that at the upcoming 13th International Congress of Orthopterology in Morocco, the current President-Elect, David Hunter, will transition to the role of President while Mohamed Abdellahi Ould Babah Ebbe will become the Executive Director. This cycle will repeat at the 14th congress, most likely in 2022.
